Chronicles of Anduria

 Hello everyone! My previous post  went through what is Ether and its relation with all creatures, them being mundane or divine. Today I'm going through how people can use this magic system to beat each other up. As I said previously everyone is born with a certain amount of Ether. If left alone it will be used to keep that person alive, heal its wounds,  and let them go beyond that one time where they really need. Then it will start to fade and when it's over the person will die. But while this is the same for everyone, some people are born different, special. They can be born with more than this, or just a will to push themselves into being something else. The basics When a normal person is stabbed in the guts they will probably die. The Ether they have on themselves will try to heal the wound and run out, causing the person to die.  Hello there! I was thinking about what would I write next, and it ended up being a post about either the magic system or the story of the world so far, as both of those are kinda required for the rest of the stuff to make sense. I ended up deciding on the magic system as it is also kinda required to understand Anduria's history.  So, let's start! Ether All the magic in Anduria derives in a way or another from Ether. Ether is the life force of the universe, it's what powers up the wind and waves, allows for plants to grow and all living things to live. Also, and this is very important, Ether attracts Ether. Regardless of how you read this sentence, it will be true.  The basics Every living being is born with a certain amount of Ether inside of them, and for the most part, that's it.  Hello everyone! When I started my rampage of projects related to Anduria one of the things that I had in mind was to set up some P&P role-play campaigns (or as close to it as we can during these covid times) And my first road-block was to find the best system for it. The magic system on Anduria is not really translatable into normal d&d or pathfinder and even more exotic systems that I tried out in the past didn't have the feeling that I was aiming for. But almost all systems that I have played in the past had something that I really enjoyed but at the same time, all of them had stuff that I really dislike. The level up One example of stuff that I really don't like is the level-up system on classic d&d. PC kill monster, PC gains XP, PC levels up. It always seemed really strange to me that the PCs would go for a couple of sessions exactly the same and then there would be a moment where he would get better at stuff. So, I was thinking about where to begin, and the obvious first thing to post here is the actual world. Now behold, my amazing drawing skills. I'm starting to use a program called wonderdraft  and it does allow for really beautiful maps, but I'm still learning how to use it. For now, this is what I have. Anduria is made of 4 large masses of land. The continent on the left is what is actually called Anduria with almost all the stories I have planned happening there. I still don't know if the world itself is also called Anduria or not, but the people that live on that continent do think so.  Going through each of the countries on the continent we have: The Karloff Empire I'm a huge horror junkie and it was inevitable that I would have at least a part of my world being heavily inspired by Gotick Horror.  Hello World! Who I am is not particularly relevant right now. What is relevant is what I am, and what I am, is a very bored man in the middle of a pandemic that has only left his home a dozen times in almost a year. Which means that I have a lot of free time on my hands. More time than I would have dreamt of. And this is the result. This little blog showing my little world. Anduria. Anduria was born more than 20 years ago when I was a very young man, and one of my teachers gave us the assignment to write a story so the best ones could go to a contest held in the school. That was it. No conditions, no limits. Just a Story. I did it with a friend, and the result was a mess. Each of us had is own character in the story and we would gain powers to go and save the world. Not my brightest moment. But it was good enough (or the other entries were even worst) and we got to be in the top 3 within the class vote (we got the second place if memory serves) and went alongside with 2 others to ...
